Here in Lynchburg, Virginia, where Ashley Rose went, and I currently go to college, there is a J. Crew Clearance store. No, not just another Outlet, but a clearance store. There’s a huge factory/warehouse attached to the back with a ton of clothes in it, that’s normally closed off to the puble. But just about once a month, they open up the back to customers and have a huge sale! It can really get crazy. Everything is all strewn about in a ton of bins and boxes for shoppers to dig through and hunt for treasures. Well they had one this weekend, so of course I went. They didn’t have an amazing amount of clothes for guys, but I was able to find a cool pair of shorts that I liked. Only eight dollars!!! It is seriously a madhouse in there. Look at the pic for evidence!

September 20, 2009And From The Other Side of The World…
September 18, 2009Hi! This is Ashley Rose, also referred to by my loving boyfriend as Rosey, and I make up the other half of this Long Distance Relationship Blog. We decided to do this blog to help ourselves get through this trying time and possibly help others in similar situations get through it! Right now, I am in Beijing, China. I moved here almost a month and a half ago now, and am loving it for the most part… I just really miss Rashan, and my friends, and my dogs, and little American luxuries such as liquid coffee creamer and being able to find a decent public bathroom when you’re not at your apartment. But we don’t need to get in to all of that right now… Do not get a bad idea of China, however. There are certainly more benefits to living here than there are setbacks!
So anyways, we actually started a blog a few months ago during the summer, since our long distance relationship actually began at the beginning of the summer when we left college, where Rashan and I met and became very good friends and then fell in love! But that blog unfortunately died when I got to China and all of the blogging websites, including the beloved Facebook, Twitter and Blogspot sites, were restricted and I was unable to get on at all for the first few weeks. But now I have found a way to get on at least once a day to these wonderful, information-sharing websites, so we decided to start fresh with a new blog. Perhaps we will post some of the old postings from our old one on here someday…
Anyhoooooooooo… well I have a lot to say but I think the posts are better if they are kept as short as possible (which, if you know me, you know this is very difficult) so we’ll just save some of that for future posts! I just wanted to make my inaugural post, explaining a few key factoids… I/We hope that you enjoy!
I love you Rashan!!!!!!!! I missssssssssss youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kanye West and Taylor Swift
September 17, 2009The biggest issue right now in pop culture, for the minute, seems to be the whole Kanye West/Taylor Swift deal. For those of you who don’t know, I in particular, but both of us really, am a huge Kanye West fan. I think his blog is the best thing on the internet, and of course, I’m a fan of the music, the clothes, what have you. Okay, so in case you’ve been living in a cave for the last couple of days, at the MTV VMAs on Sunday night, Taylor Swift won the best Female Artist award. When she went on stage to accept her award, Kanye West popped up out of nowhere, took the mic and basically said ‘Congratulations, but Beyonce (also a nominee) had one of the best videos of all time! Just so you know.’ Anyway, this ended up being a HUGE deal. And Kanye West has been getting SO much crap for his actions. When I told Ashley about this latest stunt, she was ecstatic, and thought that this was a stroke of genius that should be lauded by everyone! She’s a huge Beyonce fan by the way!! I on the other hand was a little more apprehensive on this one. At an event like the VMAs you can pretty much expect anything to go on, but I wasn’t comfortable with this one, because, whether purposely or not, it singled out Taylor Swift as an individual a little too much.
Since everything’s gone down, he’s apologized, and I think that he really is sorry, and it’s all good. I think that people might be trippin out a bit too much on this one. Sorry, Taylor Swift….I guess?

September 17, 2009Welcome To The LDR Blog!!!
September 17, 2009This is our second time around trying to get this whole idea up and running for my girlfriend, Ashley Rose, and I. We’ve been together for…close to eight months now, and Ashley recently moved to China for work at the end of this summer. So we decided that creating a blog would be a good way for us to do something cool together. We met at college. She just graduated in the Spring of this year. I, however am still here for another two years. Keeping everything cool for this long time that we are apart will definitely not be the easiest thing, but its what we both want, so here we are!! We won’t just have stuff about our relationship on here though. We want this to be the sweetest blog possible, so we’ll have pictures, videos, links, basically whatever interests us at the time! So, I don’t know exactly who I’m talking to, as I doubt that many people will see this post, but I hope anyone who does see this enjoys our blog for a long, long time to come!
